Hello Shenandoah Valley

image

Well we did our first camping trip this weekend. Good news….turns out Max is a fan of camping and the long trip in the car.  Shocker right?

i should preface with the fact that I don’t camp. It’s not my thing. However, I can do the Rv thing. It is awesome.

it was crazy how quickly Max perked up and went puppy on me. He moved and walked an swam and jumped more then he has in awhile. And we live at the beach! Outdoors is what we do. i guess the atmosphere of being out of the normal environment was good for him. He chased rabbits, rolled in disgusting stuff, and ate sticks, burgers, and hot dogs.  It was so nice to see him so happy to be camping and happy to be part of the family excursion. I guess a lot of the things we used to do, like long walks and running on the beach are a bit more of a task now. All that being said, he was pulling on the leash just walking around on the campsite (forgot his manners) so back to the haltie for him!  I am always amazed how much pulling a three legged dog can do!

it was good for us too…apple picking, marshmallow roasting, and being in a pack is A good time. I love no cell service, gave me and everyone else in the pack nothing else to do but chill. It was wonderful.

next trip is planned…Niagra Falls beginning of October!

  1. What a delightful blog! Makes me want to get some marshmellows, back up the dogs and go camping!!

Wonderful to hear how much Max is enjoying life. It definitely sounds like he’s having a second puppyhood!

He’s a beautiful dog! He seems to really be enjoying snuggling with you in that photo. You can just tell he’s a teddy bear.

Look forward to more wonderful updates with you and your pack! This one sure put a smile on my face!

  3. Oh camping is the BEST! Especially where you are, we saw some really pretty spots out there in VA.

In the outdoors, a dog can be a dog, there’s no better place to bond with the pack. You guys all look so happy, it’s easy to see that it really works for you.

    I say: ROAD TRIP!!!!!
